Lone Peak Hotshots – Uniform

When in doubt, contact Berninger at cberninger@utah.gov or (801)-232-7102 with any uniform questions.

Read the information below. When you are ready to make an order click HERE to access the crew colors order form.

Notes:

Crewmembers are required to purchase their own crew colors. Crew colors refer to anything that has the Lone Peak Hotshots Logo (The Goat) or is officially considered uniform. This page will outline what gear will be considered official uniform, rough costs, and required gear.

*If there is a “crew approved” item below, you are not permitted to wear your own. For example: a beanie is not required, however, if you are cold and pull out your own custom knit beanie, you will not be allowed to wear it.

Upholding Standards: Let it be known now, as part of our crew Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), any individual who fails to complete the season, on good terms or bad, must return items with the crew logo at the individuals’ expense. While this may appear unfair, we do this to ensure that our crew logo is not being worn by individuals who do not fit our standards. No exceptions will be made.

Grandfather Policy: All previous years Crew Colors (t-shirt, sweatshirt, jacket, etc.) will be grandfathered in and accepted as approved uniform. For example, if you have a Mountain Hardware Large Fill Down Jacket from years past, it will be permitted for use. However, you may not purchase that jacket any longer.

Worn Crew Colors: To improve professional appearance, any uniform that has holes or is visibly damaged are not permitted to be worn. If you have an excessively wrinkled collar or holes on your armpits or wrists, order a new shirt.

Pro Deals: If you plan on buying the beanie, sweatshirt, down jacket, etc., check first to see if a pro deal is available. Pro deals are reduced priced gear for industry experts like us. We will set you up with some. Some pro-deal websites that you can sign up for are www.expertvoice.com and ID.me.

For all the extra Carhartt-approved crew gear

Go to ID.Me and set up an account as a first responder. You’ll be able to get a 15-20% discount in-store and online. It is effortless and straightforward to sign up. It’ll take you roughly 2 to 5 minutes to complete. Info that they’ll need is Name, address, and social. You will select Utah Board Certified Firefighters.

Family Colors: Only crewmembers may wear black. If you would like to gift a family member a set of crew colors we will be doing the logo on a grey shirt. This will further uphold our standards and sanctity of our gear. Opportunity not available for rookies or first years (first years are the previous years detailers).

Boots: Rookies and First Years may have seen LPIHC crewmembers wearing 16″ tall logger boots with their Nomex bloused (tucked in). This is a tradition reserved for crew members who have survived their first season and were invited back for a second. You may purchase tall boots but you will not be permitted to blouse them.
*If you are wearing a traditional logger boot, any color of leather is permitted.
** You may wear hiker-style boots (Scarpa, Haix, Danner, Kenetrek, etc.) as long as they have a Vibram sole.
