Green River

The State of Utah currently claims ownership to a portion of the Green River. The ownership boundaries of sovereign land on the Green River is defined by the ordinary high water mark of the river through those portions that have been deemed navigable at statehood. Western practices of water diversion and storage over many years have had significant human-caused impacts on water flows and therefore on the placement and appearance of the high water mark on the riverbank along the river. Therefore, the location of the ordinary high water mark is unsettled.
